The book I’m recommending today was also enjoyed by my two friends who read more than me and both of my parents. So it’s a crowd-pleaser if you like the WWII historical fiction genre:
Radar Girls: a novel of WWII
With WWII being one of my favorite and most-read genres, I am always looking for a new perspective.
The Sara Ackerman books are set in Hawaii and focus on the aftermath of Pearl Harbor attack and the Pacific aspect of WWII.
Radar Girls is inspired by the real Women’s Air Raid Defense (WARD) who stepped up to help track unidentified planes and guide pilots while the men shipped out for other duties. Of course, some family drama, friendship, and a love story tie it all together.
See my previous post on her book The Lieutenant’s Nurse.
