This is an “older” Kristen Hannah book (2011) that is not necessarily my favorite of all her books but it possibly affected me more than any of the others. It is an explosive and emotional work of fiction.
An overbearing mom of teenagers fears the worst and then lives through the worst when her kids and their friends make bad choices and pay the price. Friendship, love, blame, and forgiveness are all themes that spin around through this novel.
Night Road: A Novel
This book left me in tears many nights. It was all pretty believable as a story and tragedy that could happen and kept adding layers.
I’m still recovering from this one!
Over the years I have written many posts on books by this author who has become one of my favorites:
The Nightingale – WWII is one of my favorite genres
The Great Alone – set in Alaska
The Four Winds – set during the dust bowl and one of my favorite books of 2020
