I am in the midst of reading a 900-page epic (more on this later) so I won’t be able to read and recommend any new books for a while, but I do have a list of books ready for spring reading:

Just in time for Fall reading, I am presenting a list of nine new books I’m eagerly anticipating. There’s a good mix here – historical fiction (of course), thrillers of climate and family, non-fiction about the evils of social media, new books from critically acclaimed authors and another on death row.
Check out my reading list and read with me!
Continue readingHappy summer, readers!
I want to recommend several books I’ve enjoyed recently and tell you what’s still on my summer reading list!
Continue readingI say this every year, but 2021 is bringing several new books by my favorite authors. This list below is truly exciting to me. I can’t wait to get started!!
Here is what I’ll be reading during the first three months of this NEW YEAR:
You can click on the titles to view and purchase on Amazon (I do appreciate your support as an affiliate but I also encourage you borrowing from your library or your local bookseller.)
Also, if you missed it: here were my five favorite books from 2020.
Continue readingWith a lingering worldwide pandemic, we will continue to have lots of time to read these next couple of months. My fall/winter reading list below features new releases by many authors I’ve previously enjoyed as well as some of the best books I’ve read recently that I want to recommend. I hope you can find some books you will enjoy, and let me know if I’ve missed anything great that’s coming out this fall.

Continue readingMany times during the last few days I have thought to myself, “At least I like to read!”
I’m happy to share my spring reading list in case you need something new to read while we are quarantined and/or sheltering in place, with all of our usual activities and events cancelled.
All these books are new releases this spring, and they have been recommended to me by librarians around the country when I asked for new books that keep the pages turning plus provide some emotional value. Even in these trying times, I do not want fluffy reads. I want to read books that I will think back to over my life because they have added something to it.
Best wishes to you and your families as we all try to stay healthy and ride this out. And remember, at least you like to read!
Continue readingIt’s already November and I hate to say it but I’ve not been super excited about too many of the books I’ve read thus far in 2019. I think (hope) I’m yet to find my favorite book(s) of the year. Maybe it will be on this fall and winter reading list below, which includes sequels and more fantastical than usual (for me). Although I gravitated towards all the tantalizing new fiction, I did include a memoir and some non-fiction about an insect!
Continue readingI’ve been compiling my summer reading list for some time on my goodreads page but am just now presenting it officially.
For my seasonal reading lists I pick books that look interesting, enjoyable, and will hopefully add something to my life even if it’s just insight into a particular time and place of history. So if you are looking for mindless beach reads you will want to find a different list though I can recommend this book. I do hope you will find a book or more that interest you on this list and will read along with me this summer. Be sure to follow my blog; I will post more on these books as I read through my list (no spoilers).
Publishers notes are in block quotes. You can click on the titles or book covers to find out more and/or to purchase on Amazon.

As usual, I will update this post with links as I read through it (no spoilers ever – but if I like the book I will tell you why).
