WWII is a favorite genre of mine. Although a couple of years ago I read SO MUCH of it that I needed to take a break from it, but not before I started this WWII fiction reading list that I add to occasionally.

Today I am happy to add this book to my running list of WWII historical fiction that I recommend:

The Ragged Edge of Night by Olivia Hawker

It is a story of a friar whose school is taken by the Nazis and how he finds atonement with a new family and community. It is a story of hope and resistance based on a true story from the author’s family!

“Against all sense, I believe. Somewhere, beyond the ragged edge of night, light bleeds into this world.”
